A newer vintage card
I think this card is from the 1980s, so it's not super old or an antique, but I believe it's probably still considered vintage as it's over 30 years old. It's a very pretty design -- applique with touches of embroidery.
I love the cross stitched border and the embroidered touches in particular. The embroidered fir branches look so real!
Wouldn't it be fun to do a wall hanging like this? I sure think so!

Cards sure have came a long ways over the years!
ReplyDeleteI love this card, someone put a lot of work into it! A real keepsake, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies! I am glad you enjoyed seeing the card.
ReplyDeleteLana, I think that probably around 1976, our country's bicentennial year (as well as for a few years on either side of it) there seemed to be a great resurgence of interest in traditional crafts and needlework. Even greeting cards reflected that trend, with designs depicted in crewel embroidery, cross stitch, and applique like this one.
Pinksparkle, always nice to see you here. I agree, a real keepsake!
That is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLuludou, I am glad you liked the card!
