The actual 2018 baking list

Back again to give an update as to what baking and kitchen-gift-making actually got done for Christmas 2018.    Mr. T made several batches of cookies, as he always enjoys helping out!

🎄 A double batch of Whipped Shortbread Cookies (pictured at top of post)

🎄 A double batch of Chocolate Mint Crisps

🎄 A double batch of Sacher Torte Cookies

🎄  A double batch of Secret Spice Cookies

🎄  A double batch of Eggnog Log Cookies

🎄 A double batch of Chocolate Spritz

and then single batches of

🎄 Almond Shortbread Thumbprints -- some with apricot and some with raspberry

🎄  Lemon Shortbread Thumbprint Cookies

🎄 No-Bake Cookies

For candy, I made:

🎄 Arlene’s Easy Fudge (I used peanut butter chips instead of the butterscotch along with the chocolate -- and wow!)

🎄  Heavenly Delight

🎄  Special Holiday Fudge

🎄  Chocolate-Dipped Orange Slices

And for other kitchen gifts:

🎄 Christmas Granola

🎄  Cinnamon Pretzels

That is pretty much it.  I didn't do all the baking or make all of the kitchen gifts that I had planned, but I was very pleased with what did get done.  Baking in my Christmas kitchen is such a delight for me!

  1. Oh wow! You did an amazing lot of baking! Very ambitious baking list and I am sure that many were blessed. If I bake too much; I eat too much. Having a small freezer does not allow me that option, though I do love to bake and have enjoyed reading all your recipes. They all sound delicious!

  2. I guess it was quite bit of baking at that. We did it a bit at a time and we are still using up the cookies here and there. (Served a cookie tray with ice cream and hot fudge sauce for dessert for friends last night, for example).

I wouldn't do as much either if I had a small freezer. Glad you enjoyed reading the recipes. I've made many other varieties of Christmas cookies over the years, but these are most of the top favorites.

  4. Oh my . . . it all looks so yummy! I wanted to make shortbread this year and didn't so I'll have to try your recipe when I decide to make some. I actually didn't do any baking this year for the first time in 25 years! None of our kids were home and I decided I would probably eat it all myself and that wouldn't be good! Thank you for visiting my blog your sweet comment! (I couldn't respond because you are a 'no-reply blogger').

  5. Wow, no baking at all! I use the cookies for neighbor gifts as well as for cookie trays to whatever events we might attend during the season. There are still a few left in the freezer, but my hubby is doing his best to finish them off. He says he hears them calling his name.

Hope you enjoy the shortbread if you try it! Maybe for Valentine's Day?
