A Christmas birdhouse

I was recently given this cute Christmas birdhouse ornament.  My mother-in-law found it somewhere -- probably at a thrift store or, more likely, the recycle area of her local dump.  I think it's very cute and will definitely make it a part of my Christmas and winter decorating this year.  I especially enjoy items featuring snowmen, snowflakes, icicles and so on because they can be left out and enjoyed all winter long!

  1. I LOVE to decorate with snowmen in the winter time too.:) That is really cute. My Dad often shops for us at his local dump too.:) They have a great return policy.

  2. Thanks, ladies, for the visit and the nice comments!

Nikki, I think maybe the reason we like to decorate for winter so much up here in New England is that winter usually seems so long up here. To me, it brightens things up to have some glittery snowflakes and icicles and some smiling snowmen around!

Yes, dumps are great places to shop. When my girls were teenagers, one of my father-in-law's friends was a dump keeper in a town where a prep school was located. Often, the kids there would throw their clothes away when they tired of them and this man would save the bags of clothes for my father-in-law. We had to buy very few clothes during those years!
