A kitchen gift idea -- White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn

Photo from Skip to My Lou
I'm not sure about you, but I know that I'm always looking for new ideas to give as kitchen gifts.  Every Christmas I will often give a homemade snack mix of some sort to the men in my family.  We also give a large box or basket full of various snacks and treats to my husband's boss and his family.

At first glance this popcorn snack looks just like the sugary pink popcorn that my grandmother would make for special occasions when I was very young.  Hers was just made with a sugar syrup tinted with food coloring, I am sure.  But this White Chocolate and Peppermint Popcorn from Skip to My Lou would be even better.

I'm pretty sure I'll be making at least one batch of this for Christmas 2018!  Maybe you would like to try it, too!

  1. I too, enjoy giving homemade gifts for Christmas, usually I give jams and jellies, but am always looking for other ideas, thanks for sharing the link.

    1. Jams and jellies are always a nice kitchen gift, Sue. If you look at "poems" in the label cloud, you will eventually come to a poem titled "The Jar of Jelly" that I have always loved. You might enjoy it, too.

  2. This pink popcorn reminds me of the popcorn DH grandmother used to make using cherry flavour kook-aid. I think I still have the recipe here somewhere but am sure that DH would enjoy the white choc recipe better. Thanks for all your postings for Christmas in July.

  4. It certainly looks festive! I haven’t done gifts from the kitchen in many years... Most of the gifts I remember from Christmases past were gifts from the kitchen: Aunt Gedddy’s chex mix, Barb’s fruitcake (made with dates and walnuts instead of the usual assortment of fruit), and Kirsten’s homemade turtles. Happy memories!

    1. Doesn't it? I will probably be trying this one, as I could use some new snack items in my kitchen gift repertoire.

  6. Looks yummy... but peppermint is not my favorite even though I find it so Christmassy!
