Christmas in July recipes at Gooseberry Patch this week!

(Image from Gooseberry Patch)
I don't know about you, but I often feel uninspired when planning menus during hot weather.  I tend to consider only salads and things I don't have to bake, and often I choose things I don't even need a recipe for.  I just don't have the energy to think of trying something new -- and sometimes I don't even have the energy to get out a cookbook!  I know, it's pretty sad.

Well, Gooseberry Patch has come to the rescue in more than one way lately.  Last week's Recipe Round-Up was Recipes to Beat the Heat, and it featured 61 wonderful recipes from salads to beverages to desserts, all designed to help us beat the heat!

And now this week, of special interest to those of us celebrating Christmas in July, they are sharing recipes just for that purpose.  Here's the link: Christmas in July Recipes!  The featured recipes are from their Christmas with Family and Friends book,  and they look fantastic.  What a great opportunity this is to check out some new Christmas recipes well in advance of the season.  Maybe it will even help us feel a little bit cooler!

  2. What a coincidence! I posted about Christmas cookbooks today and showed a photo of my collection. I love Gooseberry Patch cookbooks! I'm nor sure what I enjoy most, the recipes or the stories, memories, and tips that go along with the recipes. Thanks for sharing...

  3. Hi ladies!

Thanks to both of you for stopping by!

Vicki, I agree about not knowing if it's the recipes, memories, stories or tips (or even the artwork) that I enjoy the most about Gooseberry Books. I have quite a large collection and many of them are the Christmas ones. Plus, I have tried to pick up the yearly Gooseberry Patch Christmas books from Leisure Arts. I think I may have 9 or 10 of those and I truly do use them, for the crafts as well as the recipes. Guess I should do as you did and take a pic of all my GBP books to share here!
