The actual Christmas baking list

I posted my tentative baking list, and somewhere along the way I also posted our baking progress.  Now here's the actual list:
2014 BAKING LIST
Chocolate Spritz (2 double batches)
Sacher Torte Cookies
Eggnog Logs
Whipped Shortbread
Almond Raspberry Thumbprints (gluten free)
Date Casserole Cookies (2 batches)
Date Balls (called Oddballs in our family)
Macaroon Kisses
Chocolate Mint Crisps
Eggnog Oatmeal Cookies (double batch)
Gingersnap Coconut Creams (2 double batches)
Gluten-free Gingersnaps
Gluten-free Chocolate Butter Cookies -- made some of these as chocolate spritz and some as Sacher Torte cookies)
Arlene's Easy Fudge (2 batches)
Heavenly Delight -- a layered chocolate peanut butter fudge  (2 batches)
Peppermint Bark
Chocolate-Dipped Orange Slices (3 or 4 batches)
Cinnamon Pretzels (2 batches)

Wow!  That looks like a lot!  (And we still have a lot in the freezer, awaiting use on cookie and fudge trays for potluck lunches at church.)

The other night at Walmart, we were buying chocolate chips and got into a discussion of cookies with the cashier, an older lady.  She said that she and her husband had baked 50 dozen cookies for Christmas!  We were impressed -- but as we thought over our own cookie production on the way out of the store, we realized that with all of those multiple batches of various kinds of cookies, we probably came close to baking 50 dozen ourselves!

  1. That is alot of baking! I have cut back on the desserts over the years as people eat less (more health prone) and I have lots of leftovers. Only made 5 different desserts this year. My 'good' recipes are in my recipe box but I added a Christmas stamp in the right-hand corner because these are the ones I use at Christmas.

  2. It IS a lot, isn't it? I should note that my hubby did most of the baking, though, and my granddaughter did some, too. I actually did very little of the baking myself.

Many of these (not most; we are slowly emptying out the containers as we use the cookies) are still in the freezer. Funny -- when my hubby walks by the freezer, he says he can hear the frozen cookies calling out to him to be "rescued"! Of course he is only too happy to help!
