Some favorite Christmas cookbooks

These are the first three Gooseberry books I acquired.  The one on the left is a particular favorite because it goes from Harvest right through Christmas and is packed with ideas!
July is a great time to look through your collection of Christmas cookbooks and craft books for ideas.  Like Vicki, who shared her collection here: Christmas in July: Cookbooks, many of my very favorite books in this category are from Gooseberry Patch.  Since my time is sort of limited today, I thought I would just share my favorite Gooseberry Christmas books with you all.  Just pictures and captions, to keep it simple.

Here again, the one of the left has ideas from Harvest right through Christmas.  The middle one is one that I have a recipe published in, so got that one free.  Christmas Pantry, on the right, is a favorite of mine.
These are all favorites.  Simple Joys of Christmas contains one of my recipes and a Christmas memory; Farmhouse Christmas has one of my craft ideas.  I bought Magic of Christmas at a Cracker Barrel in SC on a visit to my daughter when she lived there.

These larger books have so many of the recipes and craft ideas and they also are filled with gorgeous photos.  Here are Books 1 and 3.  I also own Book 2 but it was in use on my crafting desk.

Books 4, 5, and 6
Here is a link to Book 4, if you are interested: Gooseberry Patch Christmas Book 4.
Books 7, 8, and 9

A few more

And a few more

These Gifts for Giving and Merry Mixes cookbooks are filled with great ideas to make for gifts!
Hope you have enjoyed this look at some of my Gooseberry Patch collection.  If you don't own any of these fun and inspiring books, you can find them at Gooseberry Patch, on Amazon, at many bookstores or craft stores or country shops, or even at thrift stores and consignment shops occasionally.  Better yet, submit a craft or recipe idea to Gooseberry Patch.  If they use your idea, they will send you a free copy of the book it's in!

  1. Love your collection! I have purchased most of my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks from Cracker Barrel, Costco, and Sam's Club. Every time I see a book that I don't own, my husband says "oh, no, you have plenty of them already!" I just love reading them... and trying some of the recipes.

  2. You've got me interested in collecting those. I came across a collection of Southern Living Christmas books and cookbooks in mint condition recently at a rummage sale. The neat thing was that I found issues with my girls birth years to give to them. For our friend that just got married, I found her birth year cookbook too and tucked it in a gift basket with a cooking theme. I think I will try and do the same with the Gooseberry Patch Christmas books.

The covers of your collection is getting me in the mood for Christmas! Enjoyed your post!

  3. Hi Vicki -- yes, the Gooseberry books are somewhat addictive. I own 9 or 10 others that are not Christmas books. Some were gifts, I won one in a giveaway, and several more I acquired free with having a recipe published. Gooseberry has notified me I'll be getting 2 more free books in January. So much fun!

  4. Hi Mrs. Smith too!!

That is so neat that you had such a wonderful find at a rummage sale -- and I love what you have done in finding books in the girls' birth years to give to them. What a special thought that is!

The Gooseberry books are so much fun. I especially enjoy the larger, numbered Christmas books from Leisure Arts and have made many recipes and projects from them. They are very user-friendly besides being beautiful.
