Tentative Christmas baking list for 2016

Vintage ad from my collection
Yes, here it is!  I took some time on Rudolph Day to make a tentative list for Christmas baking and candy-making.  Observant readers will note that this may be scaled down somewhat from previous years.  I've included links to as many of the recipes as I could.

Apricot Shortbread (have not tried this one yet)
Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Christmas cut-out cookies
Almond Shortbread Thumbprints
Eggnog Log Cookies

Chocolate Spritz
Chocolate Mint Crisps

Date-Nut Casserole Cookies

And you can find more of our favorite Christmas cookie recipes here:  Fun and Festive Cookies.

And then the candies I hope to make include:

Chocolate Dipped Orange Slices
Heavenly Delight
Coffee Shop Fudge
Photo from Taste of Home
 Arlene’s Easy Fudge

And, as of now, there will be one more kitchen gift that I know of: Cinnamon Pretzels.
Kitchen gifts from 2013
I often find that my actual baking list varies quite a bit from the tentative list I made ahead of time.  This year I've tried to be less ambitious.  We will see how it plays out!

  1. Thanks so much for stopping by!! They all look so good!!

    1. You are welcome, Deb! Hope you enjoy these cookies if you try any of the recipes!

  2. Yummy! You are going to have lots of delicious goodies at your house this year!

    1. It seems we usually do, Vicki! My hubby enjoys baking as well, so if I don't find as much time as I'd like, sometimes he can. Things should be a bit easier this year, with my eldercare load somewhat lighter and my crafting list being shorter!

That's still a pretty impressive list!
(and I'm 'mmmmming' over recent pins to your Christmas Cookie Exchange board.

    1. Hi Les!!!

Yes, I should go to that board myself and see if there might be something there that I can't resist trying. What ones are you considering? I have a cookie swap to go to in November so I might pick something from there.

  4. Your list looks so good! I'm got similar ones on my list, too.

    1. Thanks, Terri! I'm sure you noticed that those chocolate-dipped orange slices which I found on your blog are prominently on my list. We love them -- so festive, but so easy!

  5. Those egg nog rolls look good. Think I need to check out the recipe. Can not wait to see what you do actually make.

  6. They ARE good, Marie. I've made them for years and they are a must-make at our house for Christmas. I imagine you noticed, but I'll mention it anyway, the recipe titles in bold red are actually links. Happy baking!
