Several real-life complications and responsibilities are making it a little difficult to blog right now, but I'm going to write and schedule some posts ahead as I usually do to have something fun for you all to enjoy during this month. It's fun for me too, of course. I may not get here every day, but I will certainly try.
The gorgeous Christmas card above depicts such a welcoming scene! The glowing red candles on the mantel, the cheery fire on the hearth, and the soft light from the Christmas tree all draw the eye into this cozy room. Puffy pillows make the rocking chair comfy. Christmas cards are displayed on the mantel and round table. A generous bouquet of holly adds such a festive touch to the room. And outside the window a light snow is falling. Just a lovely, lovely Christmas room! I hope that you have enjoyed seeing it as much as I have.
The card does picture a cheery homey feeling. A place where we would all like to be and forget the troubles of the world and personal.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Yes, that sounds great. A place where we would all like to be, where we can forget the troubles of the world and those in our personal lives.
DeleteI hope my Christmas in July posts convey just a bit of that spirit.
Artists do an amazing job of creating cozy. Whoever created that picture certainly touched all the bases, save one as far as I can tell. Can you guess?
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that real life complications are disturbing the fun. We all know about that and so I am sure your readers will extend grace where needed. Don't get bogged down, my friend, though I will certainly be peeking in daily as I am able.
You are right! The base the artist didn't touch is adding anything relative to the birth of Christ. Without which we would not even have Christmas!
DeleteI'm truly not getting bogged down, thankfully. Since returning from vacation I have renewed energy. Even though covid was there in the background all the time, I could forget a lot of the day-to-day stress (no news!) and that really did help a lot.
So refreshing to see this post during these disturbing times! Thank you so much...please take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the post was a blessing to you! Please stop in and visit anytime.
DeletePraying that all is well with you. Excited to see what you post this month, regardless of how many days! You're off to a good start... I'm loving any image these days that remind me of calm and serenity.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am with you. Any image that brings calm and serenity is good. Hoping too that as believers we can convey the calm and serenity we have in Christ so that others see it.
DeleteSo glad you are continuing posting for CIJ - I do love to visit your blog :) Lovely and homey feeling card.
ReplyDeleteI love having you visit, Lucie! Hope you are enjoying the posts so far.
DeleteThose old cards really do capture what I love. They make me feel warm and cozy. I have really the past couple of years scaled back the Christmas decor to less of the box stores and kept out the things with lots of memories. Of course, I would be just fine with my manger scene and a small Christmas tree for decor and lots of family around.
ReplyDeleteYes, just a manger scene, Christmas tree and lots of family would be just perfect, wouldn't it?
DeleteAnd yes, these old cards capture what I love, also.
Wishing you the very best and looking forward to what you are able to post. I always love your Christmas posts.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pamela! I'm so happy that you are here.
DeleteWish I could wrinkle my nose and BE in the scene!! Right this very minute!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Linda!
